Default LT1 Cam help (unusual application)

A friend of mine has an 80's S10 with an al headed LT1, it has longtubes, 3.73's, and a 2000 stall, what cam and springs will work well for him? The raceweight will be about 3300 with him in it.

That small of a stall will be the limiting cam factor. A stock replacement will be about the only thing that will match that converter.

I ran the hotcam with a stock stall for 2 years and reccomend getting a bigger stall. I only gained 2tenths in the 1/4 with the cam swap.

i think the hot cam will work. yeah a bigger stall would be nice, but 3300lb race weight isnt bad, so it shouldnt be to hard to get that thing moving.

best bang for the buck would be the hot cam kit, comes with springs, rocker arms, and the cam.

now if he wants to spend a little more money, go with a custom cam, he will get more torque and hp out of it that way... just cost more.

for the money a hotcam kit is a pretty good choice. there are several companies that can give him a good "tune" for it. as for convertor a 2000 is alot better than stock which is around 1300
