Are the rims on a 99 Trans am (high Polish) coated?

WS6 Hi-Pos - safe to use?.... its 3M "Professional Formula Mag and Aluminum Polish" but also specifies "for non coated wheels", are the ws6 wheels coated, both my buddies are disagreeing with each other...

Yes they have clearcoat on them. I was trying some new polish on an extra rim I have. I had to spray on an aircraft paint stripper, let that sit, clean it off, then use the polish and it worked unbelievably well!
