Default Sell the 96 SS, for a 98-02 Formula?

Hey everyone. I'm thinking about selling my 96 Camaro SS and start looking around for a late 4th gen Formula. My SS has been good to me, but maybe it's time for an upgrade? Since, i'm in an apprenticeship and not in college anymore, i have a good income coming in, rather then working part-time while in college. Therefore, it wouldn't put me in any financial troubles. The insurance rate will probebly change a bit. I don't have any experience with the LS1, but i will do searches to find out more. It's probebly a no brainer to get a Formula with an LS1, but was just curious what you guy's think. I've always had a "crush" on formulas!! Thanks.

Cheers.

Obviously it's an upgrade due to the LS1 but for some reason I have a soft spot for the 96-97 SS's.

Yea, keep the SS and add an 01 or 02 Firehawk. Especially if you live in a warm climate and don't have to worry about affording a winter beater.

That is sex on wheels, bro! Congrats!! Before my SS, I had a 98 V6 Firebird, and i love that body style. Everything about the SS though, says "race me"

have you driven a LS1 car and compared it to yours?

i have a 98 LS1 and have driven my friends 95 LT1 t/a with the same mods as me... its just not the same, ya his is damn quick and has nice low end power, but bring the LS1 into high RPM's and it pulls like no other

plus you get all the excitement of getting a new car... thats one of the greatest feelings. i recently got mine about 9 or 10 months ago

I say get the formula especially over the trans am they could be orderedjust about the same way but the lines are a little cleaner

also since Im 21 and your 19 you have to look at insurance and other prices

formulas with my insurance atleast was 1300 diff 4000 vs 2700 loophole sort of counts it as a v6 firebird rather than the trans am sports car model

formulas are cheaper I didnt think I could afford an ls1 but my formula came up and I ended up getting it for 8500 great cond older responsible man that had 2 gtos 04 and 67 with most options and only 58k on the clock and this is what I found in a limited time other 90 formula was totalled by dumb blonde

you already have a cool car and are not forced with timeso keep an eye out formulas are much rarer than the TA good luck

keep the SS it is the best looking of the 4th gen Camaros IMO. You can always put a ls1 or beter yet a 402/408 if the LT1 is getting tired. Then you would have awsome ride.

I used to have a 94 Polo Green V6 Camaro before I traded it in for my 2000 Trans Am. But I have nearly every photo I could find of 96-97 Polo Green SS's. I love the SS hood with the 4 box headlights.

Keep the SS IMO.

How much money could you afford to put out? Cuz I've seen '98 & '99 Formulas go for as low as 5k. If you found one for around 5k, could you afford to keep both? Because think about how much that SS is going to be worth someday. They only made the LT1 SS's for two years, plus they didn't make that many. Also, think about how cool it would be to own both f-bodys, one Chevy and one Pontiac.

Yeah, it would be nice to own both cars, but it's one or the other. I don't have that much space in my garage to fit two cars. Unfortunetly, up here in the great, white North (Ontario, Canada) those prices are unheard of. The cheapest one in my area is a 99 Formula, A4, with 52,000km's and he wants $16,000.
