General Maintenance & Repairs - trans fluid?

How many quarts of trans fluid does it take to fill up the 4l60e, what brand should i go with as well?

to fill up? as in...trans and torque converter or just trans?

im geting ready to instal a shift kit, i dnt kno how much i need for it after i take off the trans pan

I just removed my pan and changed the filter. It took about 5 1/2 qts to fill it back up. It should be about the same amount for a shift kit install.
