I did the exact opposite A4 to M6(soon to be Proshifted) and down the road going to TH400. But I would imagine going back to M6 would be easier than going to A4. Check out the sticky on A4 to M6 and M6 to A4, there is a ton of valuable info on those pages.

I guess my question is did anyone regret going to an auto so much they went back to a m6?

Well, ask yourself what about each interests you. Honestly, it really is all about personal preference really.

Personally, I love having an M6 car. I feel that it makes me feel like I'm more in control of the car and not merely along for the ride. A daily commuter, yeah an auto is good, but for a fun car, definitely a manual.

So ask yourself why you want to go to a auto and then ask yourself what you will miss about a manual and evaluate the situation long term. If it's just to reach a et mark, what about after you reach that, what then???

Hi Folks
I have 4 Camaros - 2 autos and 2 M6s. My daily ride is the 97 M6 and I like it. To be real honest, my 02 is fast but not as fast as my 92 Z-28 because I can't shift as good as I should - wasted time between shifts. The 92 Z-28 is a modified 5.7 auto which can driven by anyone - moves out and you can't miss shift.
For fun and full control, M6 is great - for total performance (providing you are not that great at shifting) then go with the Auto.
Bill
