Well guys I finally convinced my dad to head up to HRP so we could run each other. We ran about 4 or 5 times but this is a vid of only 2 of the runs. Every time I spanked him pretty bad. His best for the day was a 13.8 @ 102 but he was averaging 14.4's; the wheelhop that many of you saw in the Mustang commercials is true, the car has horrible wheelhop when launching. My best of the day was a 13.0 @ 105 and I was averaging 13.1's. Its a short vid but I thought I would throw it up here to show you guys how LS1's fare against the new 'Stangs. All he has is a CAI and a catback. All I have is a cutout, im still on the stock paper air filter and stock airbox.

You need to teach him how to burn those things! He drove though the water, then barely slung the water off! Driving around the water would probably help alot too.

Hahah yeah guys it was pretty bad, also his friends at work told him not to burn out with those tires because they were street tires, so he stuck to it.

new GT's are slow. Mine only went 14.1 @ 99 mph last week at HRP. It was either bog city or wheelhop off the line. I wouldn't be scared to run any stock GT in any stock LS1 f-body. My showroom stock 99 SS went 12.84 @ 104 in similar weather.

14.1? That would be a good race for a dead stock LT1, to bad they came out 13 years ago and the new GTs came out last year. Atleast the 03-04 Cobras were quick. What are those 05 Gts with blowers running?

You are right Neil, they would be good races for stock LT1 cars. Both make about 260 rwhp, and both are around 34XX lbs. I guess the new GT's are quicker than the last generation GT's, but not by much.

I wish Ford would put more performance in to the GTs, they are a little quicker than the last generation but over all a way better car, they did an awesome job with the interiors though and it has really good styling. Our cars had the performance since 93 till 02, but they still got out sold.
