Wednesday night is going to be my last chance to break into the 12's with my current setup. The truck goes to the shop the following Monday for the engine swap. I went today and sucked bad. I can't get this tuning stuff down. best i could muster was a 13.4 @98. I can't figure out how to control a/f with this mafless tune.

So, I'd be willing to pay $100 cash for any knowlegable, trustworthy individual who can get me to 12.xx on Wednesday night at NED. I will have my 2bar at that point and my 2bar SD OS from HPtuners.

PM me if you are the man for the job.

idk how it works exactly but the way EFIlive does it theres a few simple tables where you put in your desired a/f and it does actully keep it there. i would imagine hp would have a simaliar table that you must be missing

up up up. i'm sure this is gonna be easy for someone who knows what the hell they are doing unlike me.

I ran 13.2 with a 1.80 60' last weekend. that is by far the best 60 i've ever had, but my a/f was way off so it was a dog during the run. My 13.06 had a 1.9X 60'. See where i'm going with this? easy $100 for someone. Also, my mph the other day was only 99. My best was 102.

to me, it seems like 12.90 or even 12.85 is attainable. someone make it happen for me.

No offense but if you have been that worried about it to buy software etc why didn't you just pay for a full tune?

a "full tune" is like $500 and over 2hrs from my house. I did pay for a Nelson tune a few years ago, but, ya know. I've had HPtuners for awhile and I've had it on the dyno a few times and Don has made a/f and timing adjustments etc. BUT, not since I've been running SD. This is a recent development. I haven't had time to get a full tune, AND, it's not worth it cause i'm getting a full tune in a few weeks when the engine/turbo go in.

Why dont you just run it on a wed track rental day for 100 bucks. The track is real sticky and your short times will get you in the 12's.

The desired a/f is dependant on other tables to cal. the deliered a/f.

if there is a track rental THIS WEDNESDAY, that's a great idea. Otherwise, no can do. This wed is the last chance I'll have to hit the number I want because the engine is being pulled shortly after. Either way, I still don't know how to tune it myself. Hopefully it will be easier with the 2bar setup. It's coming DHL tomorrow.

Is the electrical problem fixed with the MAF? That can be causing all your problems which might just be wrecking your motor by the sounds of it.The times/mph dropping is a sign of a real bad tune or ring lands collapsing.
The truck has to be tuned SD on the street first.

No, the MAF problem is not fixed. I'm waiting for the engine swap to deal with it. That's why i'm not using it. As far as SD tuning, I have no clue where to begin. My ltrims look fantastic. I get no KR.

I read somewhere that I want to disable ltft and stft learning, true or false? Also, do I want to force it to be in open loop by making the closed loop enable temp 284? If so, what do I do with the OLFA table? stock?

I know you get paid to answer questions like this, so, i always feel like a dick asking them.

If you don't have that stuff listed sorted out,you shouldn't even drive it in SD mode. Right now your truck is driving in limp mode.

limp mode + lots of boost + racing = :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
Dan my expert opinion (I am an expert at f'n shit up) is to not race the truck and drive it very carefully untill you get eh engine swap done. You dont want to blow that current eninge up. If you do then it will be worth ZERO $$$$$$$ to you. jsut be careful man.

ahhh, there's that term again "limp mode". Can someone define this? How can you determine if you are in "limp mode"?

limp mode usually occurs when I go swimming in really cold water.
Oh wait thats shrivile mode.. nevermind

i severely doubt you've gone into limp mode unless you've exceeded your p1514 table...but in SD mode its harder to nail down fueling when you only have a VE table that extends to 0psi...if you were running a 2 bar Os it would be pretty simple to nail everything down quickly.

yes sir. i'm finding that out right now. wow, so far this shit is easy. not that i have any time to go drive around and log, but, the little logging that i've done and the adjustments i've made have been simply.

Last question: Tonight at the track, if I need to adjust my A/F ratio, do I only need to adjust the PE table?

DanaliHD
04-19-2006, 08:46 PM
wow, that was bad. 13.5@97mph. ugh. The VE is a friggin mess. ugh. Good thing the new engine is going in in a week or so.

how is the engine that is in there???? is that all messed up too???? That would suck. That means that you would be out like 1,000-1,200 cash. Oh well :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

Dan~ Im not tryin to be an ass here by any means. BUT I really dont think that there is anyway there is nothing wrong with your engine if the tune has been off the mark for this long. Also with running boost, a correct tune is critical to sustaine engine life and long-gevity. So I would think that there must be something mechanically wrong with that engine now. I mean you are running SD with out a real SD tune

I hope the engine is fine and that you sell it for tons of money too.

well, i guess these conversations are over anyway cause this setup is no more. it's all coming out in 2 weeks. I'm just gonna adjust the VE table using my 2bar SD setup. Yes, I do have a real SD setup. It just isn't fully tweaked yet. And believe it or not, the engine is alive and well.
