I found that the Summit 6" long bits worked very well for shaping aluminum.
This kit:

This other kit for close-in work is good as well:

Their kit of sanding rolls is good to have on hand as well. Keeping a small cup of transmission fluid to dip them in kept them from getting clogged with aluminum. Wear a dust mask and goggles. That junk goes everywhere.
Not that my heads were any good though. I did a set of LT1 heads, they were all over the board. Stock intake flowed about 205 cfm at peak. My ports ranged from 195 to about 235. I junked the heads. They looked OK, but they certainly didn't flow very well. I did learn a lot about port shape though and things that can go wrong.
I gave up on porting heads, but I still reach for those sanding rolls and cutting bits all the time for doing stuff. They come in very handy.

I actually ran across some very nice metal cutting, long shank burs in sets of 3 for $12 at a hamfest, my aluminum cutting burs I bought at fastenall and am thrilled with them. I also have a MrGasket set of sanding rolls… and the only problem with them is that the mandrels that come with them are 6mm rather then ¼”, so they don’t play nice in most grinder collets… even on imported grinders they still usually supply them with ¼” collets… I ended up buying a 1/4” mandrel at fastenall also.

this kit comes with the mandrel used to hold the sanding cartridges...works very well to smooth out the rough work you did with the metal bits...
