valve covers that fit AFR 227 heads??????
I have the AFR 227 LT4 Heads. I cannot find valve cover to fit them ANYwhere. I have looked and looked. I even called AFR and asked. They used to carry them, but no longer do, and all they could tell me was to keep looking. They are perimeter bolt...but they need specail covers for them...they need to be for this head. Does anyone out here know of anywhere i might be able to pick some up???
Thanks alot,
T.

Scoggin D. has some that will work. They have to have the wider lip base for the gasket area to fit around the lip. I bought some a few years ago from them. They were the raised polished ones made by Proform. If you use them....you will have to clearence the back of your alternator if you still use the factory accessory bracket.

I mostly see people running the high CHEVROLET embossed versions.... look at any pic of joe overtons motor... he has AFR 227's...

How long did you guys wait for your AFR 227's to come in from AFR?????
I know I waited 16 weeks... UGGGGHHHHHH..... there must be some sweet LT1's going together since three ppl at once have 227's going on their rides.. I know about Tony's but SLP you care to elaborate on your setup???
And on mine I am going to relocate the alternator. looks much cleaner and eliminates the heavy factory bracket.....

The factory accessory bracket is aluminum and weighs about 3 lbs total. Not too heavy.
None of those valvecovers will fit with the alternator in the stock location. Here is a pic of what I'm running.
