Service Engine Soon Light From Gutted Cats? I have recently installed some gutted cats on my 2002 trans am ws6 and about after 500 miles my service engine soon light came on I checked it with my hypertech programmer and got these codes.
P0420
P0430
I cleared the codes but they came back after about 100 miles. Anybody know how to get rid of the SES light for good and what do these codes mean?

I don't know if this is ANY help, but my boyfriend removed his cats completely (on his mustang) and the same thing happened. I think it was his o2 sensor, and he just turned those off on the programmer.

Well I found this out-
P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 1
P0430 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2
Will these codes cause my car to run shitty? I havn't been able to tell yet.

If u gut cats----IT MEANS THEY DON'T WORK ANYMORE... 
That is why you need them tuned out or O2 simulators hooked up. 
Hypertech won't turn them off BTW....
