Question Emergency brake

When I go to pull the e-brake I have to pull it all the way up for it to engage. I mean up as it points up towards the t-tops not the windshield. What exactly is this? Also when I pulled it one time, it was easy and loose and as I pulled it. It made a banging sound, but then went back to normal. Springs maybe?

yeah, they do that, there is a little adjustment you can do in the rear, you could be in need of some pads back there in the drums, I think you have to buy the whole ebrake assembly from GM to get the spring.

There is a adjustment on the back brakes. It is set up like the old drum style adjustments.

Check the pads first and make sure they are good. If they are, then adjust it.

They should be good, but I know they need replacement.
