Default Whining sound from under my hood !!

Okay here's the prob.

When my car gets up to running temperature I start to hear a whining sound from under the hood as I accelerate between shifts. Could that be my power steering pump or something else ??

Any ideas guys ???

if you removed the !AIR, I think it's the line you are supposed to plug with a screw, leaking. Mine sounds like a supercharger, its awesome

Have you checked your power steering resevoir? Mine was just barely touching the bottom of the lil plastic dipstick and making a lil noise, also had a heavy feeling steering wheel at times. Topped it off and it feels like a brand new car again.

Already checked that. The level is fine, that's why I'm confused.

i had what seemed to be that exact problem, my car was still under a used warranty , i had no idea what it was, but they fixed it and told me it was the belt tensioner and i had to replace belt after that worked perfect

Water pump, AC, Power steering pump.

I'd start pulling belts. Do you have a short belt to bypass the power steering?

Pull main belt to be sure it's a belt driven noise. Then AC belt to eliminate AC system. Then if you have a short belt put that on.......and all it leaves is the water pump.....or alternator but you should see something on the guages if the alternator is going.

Rev the car up while under the hood. Thats what I did, and it was clear that my Power Steering Pump is done. Even though it still works, and it's full, it whines past 1,800 RPMS when warmed up. I even tried pumping out the old fluid and filling it back up with new, but no luck.
