FWIW in California I was under the impression the cats were warrantied for 100k
I know they are for 80k under federal emissions laws

So wait i can go to a dealer and get a new one with my old one? Or do i have to send it in and crap like that. Does it have to be the same dealer that sold the car?

And is a cat off a 98 camaro z28 the same thing as a 2000 z28 cat?

If your car was made as a california car the cat warranty is only good for 7/70,000...ask me how I know

And don't buy a cat from the dealer.....they're a complete rip off. Thunder sells Random Tech high flow cats(both) and 2.5" Y-pipe for $600...I have them and the fit is great and so is the build quality... http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...&vid=3&pcid=99

If you do want the stock cats (rather than the aftermarket options available), you should be able to order them from any GM parts dealer. Local dealers, or online ones such as our sponsor SDPC: http://www.sdpc2000.com/search.asp?s...2398&doquery=1

If your OEM warranty is void then GM doesn't have to furnish new cats.

There's a seperate warranty under the federal emissions warranty....the cats are covered for 8yrs/80,000 miles....it's even in your owners manual, or just call the dealer.

I knew my cat was bad in my LT1 car when I would stomp the gas and not even spin the tires, started at about 90k. LT1's have a cheap cats though, so I went with Hi flow.
