Drop the car 2". If I hold my hand horizontal it barely slides in my gap. oh, and post this in the wheel section not here.

On 17" wheels the stock tire size is 275/40/17... the middle number (40) is the height, you really don't want to change the overall diameter of your wheels and tires by getting taller tires. There are lots of reasons you don't want to do that... The biggest being that will change your effective gearing and it will throw your speedometer off unless you change the tune in your car's PCM.

Your best bet to eliminate the gap is to just get some 1-2" lowering springs of your choice. You can look at ride height after springs here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/406330-those-who-want-see-ride-height-after-springs.html

Then after you decide what stance/springs you like the best, call Sam Strano at stranoparts.com to get some custom valved matching Bilstein heavy duty shocks.
You'll be amazed at the ride quality after this swap. One of the best things I ever did to my car.

It is the height to some extent...The middle number is really called the aspect ratio, and it is a percentage in millimeters of the width of the tire. So, if you have a 275/40/17 tire, 40% of 275mm = aspect ratio of 110, thus the tire is 110mm high on the sides. Thus the lower aspect ratio, the smaller the sidewall will be. a 275/35/17 (if they even make those) would be skinnier.

Just FYI.

I know... but basically thats height since its the number that increases/decreases a sidewall when all other factors are the same. I saw no need to get that technical about it.
