Holden Performance - Does Holden do anything to the LS1?

Does anyone know if Holden modifies the LS1/2 in anyway? Supposedly the ones in Australia arnt exactly reliable.

They are plenty reliable. Where did you hear that from. And by modifying them, what are you talking about. You have HSV which is sorta like Ford SVT. They sell special edition hot rods. I have plenty of friends with Holdens, no complaints from them.

I think for the average car that Holden uses the LS1 the tune , the sump and the exhaust manifolds are the only parts that are unique .

The LS2 (from what i read) will only be used in the HSV cars .

yes that was abit of a problem when the first series of gen 3 came out over here but was sorted out and its very rare to get a shitty one now.

Exactly as you said mate vary rare now, you do get the occasional LS1 with probs but no different with any other make or model, the probs with piston slap were basically sorted out by the second series of car that came with the gen3, but that is why they had warranty....
