Default What RPM to launch at?

All right im on my quest for a cam only time slip. I ordered the A3 conversion kit ( 400) About to order the T-rex, and within a month will purchase the 12 bolt with 4.10's. My question is with a strong drivetrain, ( turbo 400 and 12 bolt) Im going to go with a 4400 converter. I would like to go bigger but its my D.D. so I dont know if I could go bigger? But would I be safe to launch on a stock motor at 4400 RPM? I ask because when I purchased my current converter a tech guy said if you launch past 3600 on a stock motor you could blow your motor. I thought it was kinda bogus, so I wanna ask my fellow tech gurus. Thanks. Gregg

You must have lots of dough or a short comute to drive A3 with such a loose converter daily. You can launch that thing from 6k and be OK. Especially in an auto. Why T-Rex? They do not seem to do as well in autos as the G5X4. T-Rex is better in M6 cars. Well if you want the best ETs I would go looser on the verter. About 5k or so. I hope you have supporting suspension mods. You are going to need it.
