my buddy is thinking in offering LSx tuning services in his shop

is there any comparison between available tuning softwares regarding
* cost ( for unlimited number of cars )
* tuning capabilities
* level of complexity
* thechnical support
* supported cars and models ( especially holden cars )

your input is highly appreciated

Your best choice is either HP Tuners or EFI Live

Both products have pricing on their site for unlimited usage and both offer great products.

There aren't really any comparisons because in the past people have turned these threads into flamefests...

I'm going to let this one stay open for a while but if anyone starts bashing or flaming anyone it's done and timeouts may be given. Maybe for once there can be civil discussion

I can speak on the HPT part to an extent... They offer licensing for unlimited LSx Trucks, LSx vehicles, I6, ecotec is almost ready for beta, V6 cars, V6 trucks, L4 trucks, L4 cars,LS2 and LS7 vehicles , etc... the pricing goes down as more is purchased

Also Custom Speed Density operating systems are offered for LSx vehicles (even 2 bar for 98 PCMs)

you say unlimited but what exactly does he want to tune? Just LSX car? LSX cars/trucks? LS2/LS7 as well? Both hptuners & efilive have very competetive pricing & can cover pretty much anything you want.

thank you very much for your input

we want to tune LSx and V8 Vortec engines on
GMC & Chevy Trucks ( 5.3, 6.0, 8.1 )
F-bodies ( LS1 )
Holden cars LSx ( here in Saudi Arabia they are sold under Chevy name )
but I don't think that any of them come with LS2 or LS7 version
maybe it will be offered in new models 2007+

it seems that Hp tuner is the one
but I don't see the unlimited option in their website

Either package will do more then what you want it to do. I perfer to use EFILive just for personal reasons that I feel make it a better choice then HPT, where as horist, foff667, and Magnus are HPT guys. If pricing is a concern, you can purchase the workshop version of EFILive now, upgrade to the new V2 interface in a month for $299 and have everything that is offered, LS1/LS2/LS6/LS7/I6/Duramax/Trucks/etc for under $7,000. That includes every possible vehicle that is supported as well as free 1/2/3 bar and exclusive custom operating systems. If you need some information on the pricing, let me know and we may be able to work something out.
