Default ls6 intake+tune+drag radials=same et?wtf..

before i even begin i just want to let you know im in vegas where the altitude is high and cars run at least a half second slower than most other places. anyway, my best time before the intake, tune, and radials was a 13.5@103.5 with a 60ft of 2.132. After the intake and tune was done and went out to the track again, spun off the line, ran a 13.5@105 with a 2.25 60ft. So i figured ok the powers there, I just need some tire. So i ordered a set of 255/50/16 m/t drag radials. Went to track today and did horrible, my 60fts were higher than what i did with street tires(barely hitting 2.1), im still running 13.5's but my trap speed is down by a solid mph to 103.8. I was hoping to hit at least 13.3 today maybe even a 13.2 with a 60ft under 2.0. I dont know what happend, my car was responding so well to everything else and now im stuck at 13.5.

Ive recently replaced both my 02's with aftermarket bosch's because they went bad because of the headers. Would that have anything do to with it.

Also, i ran my best 60ft when i AVOIDED the waterbox and did and quick burnout on the track. I ran my worst 60ft when i did my biggest burnout. I thought drag radials liked heat. Also, when i burnout my car wants to turn, is this normal or is my rear differential going out.

sorry for the long rant
Any help is appreciated!!

Weather! What was the difference between the trips to the track?

Your car is moving sideways on the burnout because you did get enough water on them. Tire pressure?

last time at the track it was maybe 10-20 degrees cooler. my tire pressure is about 20psi. last time at the track i finally started to spin, never had a problem with traction before, is it possible that i have too much tire now? If I ran a 2.132 60ft with less power on street tires, would it be normal to better that time on drag radials?,espacially m/t drag radials.

Next time out in two weeks im probably going to avoid the waterbox all together and just clean off the tires, im hopin for at least a 2.0 60ft and a 13.4, even though i believe i should be at 13.2 by now.

btw-i like your car, mine looks identical(save for the stickers and wheels)except mine dont exactly launch like that

Wow, your mph seems really low for having 340rwhp. Last time I went to the track with Drag Radials at California Speedway I had more problems getting off the line due to severe tire hop. Even then though, my car is making only 10whp more then yours, and i'm trapping 5-6mph higher, and at a slower running track. I think something is amiss with your car.

With you stating that your car is pulling sideways off the line i'm curious as to whether or not your car's differential might be blown. Due a burnout on a street and make sure you have two contact patches. If it isn't your differential I think your car isn't putting down the numbers it did on the dyno, cause that car should be trapping atleast 107mph IMHO.

what gears do you have in the rear..poss the tire might be hurting you by hooking and boging the car down.

i have 3.23's. thats what I was thinking, i think I have too much tire. im stuck in the middle where street tires will spin but drag radials will hook but bog me down. luckily my next 2 mods will be a torque converter and cam. i allready emailed fuddle about the converter. he hasnt emailed me back yet but what do you think would be a good stall for my mods with a weekend warrior. ill be getting a blower cam, probably the tr224/227 or the speed inc 224/232. im not sure which one.
thanks for the replies. maybe ill try to get up the video.

Don't go below a 3500 stall. Pick the size you want then go one size higher.

I love it, went from 13.2 @ 106 to my current time with the stall and the drag radials. Car is currently in the shop getting the long tubes and cam put in.

how are you launching???

I wouldnt go with anything less than a 3800 stall, the stall will help you get off the line harder.

how bad did you need tuning after the stall, because i was going to wait until after the cam that way I can get everything done at once for one price.

with the street tires i got my best times and 60fts launching from idle, so i did the same with the m/t's but im bogging pretty bad. i was going to try powerbraking next time to maybe help with the bog but my track stays busy and im lucky to get 3 runs in a night. how do you suggest i stage and launch with m/t drags.

I always powerbrake either with the stock stall or with my current one. I tuned the trans only after the stall to adjust the shift points and to delete torque management. This was all done last year.

Yeah bring your RPMS to about 1900RPMS thats about as high as you can go with a stock stall and drop the brake and let it have it, you should easily pull 1.8's

the 02's should have little to nothing to do with it. they are not used for anything at WOT, only part throttle.

I can't believe nobody caught the temp difference ??? 10-20degrees cooler the previous time would be .1-2. and 1-2mph difference right there.
