looking to buy a 2-stroke quad in MA
That's right, I'm looking for an old honda or suzuki 250 2-stroke quad near MA. Anybody know of one for sale? I want something that doesn't need a bunch of work, has to be rideable.

Thanks, but sorry, I meant to mention, not a blaster, too small for me. Thanks though.
Looking at some pics a guy just emailed me about 92 0% stock quadracer I think I'm gonna buy it, can't see it 'til next week though, long story.

I wanted an 88 or 89 honda, but this Suzuki looks killer. Talked to the guy on the phone for a while, he listed so many parts and extra parts, extra tires etc...to give an idea if anyone cares, he sent pics and wrote this here "Here are some of the pics i have of the racer.. as you can see there are alot of parts that i even forgot to mention like the frame protectors, sliders, shocks, control arms, swing arm, steering stem and stabilizer, bead locks, hole shot mxr's..cool head, ported and polished cylinder, only been bored once so it can be bored 3X. wiseco piston kit,all lone star parts, axle, steering stem, swing arm, a-arms.. still carry warranty on beakage and bending. has a much larger 39MM Kehin airstriker carb, stock was only 34mm. i like the stock seat cover pattern that was only available for 1992 which is the last year they made the LT250R"
He also said when he bought the bike he stripped it, gusseted the frame, and then rebuilt it for racing from what he learned from his previous same bike that he broke like crazy.
Only things I don't like, is the stock seat cover, not honda, and have to buy race gas for it, but hell that all isn't really bad

yeah, half my life ago(!) when I was 15-16 I had an 85 1/2 lt250r had some great fun on that thing, though I did break the frame a few times
Seeing what they still sell for, I figure buying one is like money in the bank, but alot more fun

How much does he want for it?
I know a kid with a built '88 (I beleive) 250R that he's looking to get either 3500/4k for.
I can't remember exact price, but its mint.

Yeah I'd prefer a later honda, but not for that much money. I like those all red honda 250r's 88 I think. This suzuki is a pretty good deal though and much faster and better than a stock honda I'm guessing. So I might. I was thinking I should ride a 400ex too. Seem to be attainable around that price range. Are the new 4 strokes any better than those old 2 strokes?
I've had all 80s off-road stuff, even my on-off I still have, 84 honda 600

I posted in your other thread in the lounge.
But that 400ex won't be as much fun as the 250R. They handle pretty good, and are reliable as hell. But they just aren't fast. It's all in how you look at it though. I think the Bombardier DS650, and Raptors are slow. So I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.
The 400exs are cheap though, my buddies and I pick them up for around $1500, and sell them for $2k or better when we get bored with them.
The want ad is where it's at.
Not sure what a Honda 450R is going for these days. I ride an '04 and wouldn't trade it for anything but the new Zook LT450R. And even then, I'd still like to have a Honda 450 in my garage.
If you're not up on the new stuff though, definately try and ride some of them! You'll be surprised how much better the 4 strokes are now.
That 250R I mentioned is completely built BTW, but I agree. The price is too high. I don't like paying anything over $2k for these things. But the new 450s are hands down worth it.
