Question Tuning 1998 A4 with 110LSA

Would it be nearly impossible to get a 1998 A4 to idle and run decent on the street with a cam like the T-Rex which is on a 110 LSA?

Not at all - at one time, I had a 228/232 on a 110 lsa in my car with an A4 and was able to tune it to drive and idle great. Took a little effort to get it right, but it is doable!

Do you plan on daily driving the car and what are your tuning skills like? That is a big cam with a lot of overlap primarily designed for track use.

My friend has a custom grind F13 on a 110lsa and it honestly drives exactly like mine at lower rpms (until you really get on the gas anyway

You'll need a converter if you want driveablity with that kind of cam.

I daily drive an XER 228 0.588 112+0 in my '98 with no problems. Like mentioned above, it is taking awhile for me to get it tuned right and you will need a higher rpm stall TC.

I have the tsp 231 237 112. I drive mine a 100+ miles a day with no problems. Get lots of looks at red lights and when I stop at gas stations. Yea, everybody told me it would be a pain to drive but I love it. I have done alot of tuning to get there.

You will need a good tuning package. I have been able to get mine pretty well settled down without any prior knowledge and lots of reading and picking of peoples brains. ****, I was able to get it idling pretty smooth even with the cam installed a tooth out. It's better now though.

Yeah i have a 3500 stall already. I usually am only able to get the car out on the weekends anyways. So its not really a daily driver but i tend to drive the crap out of it during those weekends.
