Ok here goes, this summer I'm going to shoot for the 500rwhp mark. I plan on doing a h/c package on the 346cid but not sure what the best head to go with at a reasonable price, looking at the patriot stg 3 LS6 head as for now. The cam that I'm leaning towards is the trex v2 but are their any cons to that cam like lack of vac. for the brakes, I'm not to concerned but just want to know. If any of you know if this is possible please chime in, or if there are other heads or cams I should be looking at. Thanks guys.

if you got $7,000 then I would look at ttperformance's stage 4 head cam package. It made 505rwhp on a 98 SS. you dont even need a 90/90 setup. All the car had was headers,waterpump, and their head/cam combo. Here is the link:http://www.ttperformance.net/packages.shtml it is the last kit to the bottom. Good luck man.

I hope that youre fully aware that 500+ RWHP will be a max effort 346. Drivability will be almost non existant. The car will have two speeds, idle and WOT. Might look into a big ol' solid roller cam, some big AFR or ETP heads, a 90/90, all bolt-ons, even the exotic ones like an electric water pump and a crankcase vacuum pump. And run open headers. Unless youre particularly ballsy, the only time poeple should see that thing on the street would be on a trailer.
Now if youre looking for 450 RWHP, there are a LOT more options, many of which are a bit more street friendly.

For the price of this pkg, you get a mystery cam, and it doesn't include the FAST+ TB you'll need to acheive the #'s.

This is definatley not true I drive my setup everyday no surging, bucking, or overheating. Also I usually get stuck in traffic everyday for atleast 40 min w/ no problem. BTW the Cartek 4x made 507.9 hp and has alot better power curve than the TTP package.

Sorry but Cartek goes through extensive R&D and it wouldnt be fair to them to release their cam specs. I can tell you its smaller than the T-Rex and similar cams. For more info call Dave at 908-317-4496

Yeah I know some people would think that but Cartek has almost always got great results with smaller cams that make the same or better power than larger cams. I'm not saying only this cam, I had 3 different Cartek setups with cams that werent too big by anymeans that made insane power. Thanks for understanding about the specs I see many people bash members for not wanting to share them.
