Default 13.7171@101.12 Good For A Stock 2001 Camaro SS?

I finally got my Camaro out to US131 Motorsports Park in Martin Michigan. Here is my record:

Reaction Time: .6410
60 FT: 2.0969
330 FT: 5.8171
ET @ 594 FT: 8.2901
1/8 ET: 8.8441
1/8 MPH: 81.23
1000 FT ET: 11.4839
1000 FT MPH: 120.63
1/4 ET: 13.7171
1/4 MPH: 101.12

Timing By: TSI System 2000 Plus @ US131 Motorsports Park Martin, MI

Is this generally where I should be running stock?

My friends stock 1999 Z-28 ran a 13.5@102.97 against me. Why is the Z faster than me?

might wanna change that 1000 ft mph, and the z is faster because he knows how to drive jk, just becuase it's a SS doesn't mean its faster than a z28, they are identical except for the ls6 intake, the z might actually be 100 lbs lighter too...mph seems really low more like lt1 times...was it hot out and was the da really high

ps are you both m6's or is one an auto...

Both A4's. No, it was about 68 out, not too hot.

only 01+ cars got the ls6 intake...the difference of ss to z28 is mainly appearance, but the lid and catback are different, some ss got auburn rears, etc...nonetheless, both cars should perform about the same.

don't fret your track times, my 00 z28 a4 (273 gears) did 14.1 @ 101 bone stock. when you start modding what you ran stock won't matter. and yes, your time is on par for a stock automatic. on the slower end, but nothing to worry about.

is your buddy's z a hardtop car? they weigh ~100lbs less than a t-top car, that might be the difference. or, maybe you just got a slow one like i did.

Your time seems about right from what i've seen at the track. Most people running low 13's stock are in favorable conditions. I think your car's trap speed should be a smidgen higher, but that could be taken care of by purchasing a lid.

He has the T-tops, but yeah, he weighs about 100 pounds less still. I think I got a slow one....

Even with an A4, I would think your ET be bit lower with higher trap speed. But then, I don't know how your track is prepped or elevation of the track.

My 99 SS 6sp ran 13.61@104mph bone stock and my 98 TA A4 went 13.74@102mph w/ only a K&N and both were on factory street tires so ur about on par being an auto although i do think ur mph is a lil low(think u should be closer to 104-105mph or so) seeing as how the 01 and 02 cars got the LS6 intake and are generally faster stock but dont fret to much cuz many factors come in to play. What kinda 60fts was ur friend cutting and how was he launching his car??? How were you launching yours?? How many runs did you get to make? Is this your 1st time ever running your car at the strip???

what was the weather like. Seems a bit off, my sisters stock 00 Z went 13.1 at 105 in good weather down here in houston, but another friend went 13.5 at 102 stock in his 98, so times can be all over the place. How many miles are on the car? Change the fuel filter recently? It seems like its down on power with those traps. The 60 was pretty decent though

his 60' was a 2.0541 . This time listed was my first and best race. Times dropped into the 13.8's after this. Brake launching is how we were both doing it. I ran 5 times this day. Yes, it was the first run I had made with the car at the track.

I checked your tracks elevation. It's 853' above sea level. That's not bad at all and from what you said the weather was also good. With this in mind, I would have guessed a stock A4 SS would hit 13.5 @ 103 with a moderate 2.0 60'. So I guess your a tad on the slow side but not by that much. Your car could just be in need of a tune-up.

Once you start modding you'll get whatever is holding you back fixed. For example, most people change plugs and wires when they add LT headers and that might be all it needs. Many people will get a dyno-tune after LT headers and that could also find your missing power. So don't sweat those times. There is more power in your car (IMO) and I'll bet when you get the car dyno-tuned (if you ever do) you'll likely find it.

Good luck with your ride.
