Default Help please

When i turn on my air, vent, heat, or heat on the floor, the only place that air will come out is my defroster. Does anyone know whats wrong with the vents? Is the switch operated by vaccum or how does it work. Thanks.

Yeah it's a vaccuum operated system. You may have a vaccuum leak somewhere. I know that the defroster is the 'default' position when something isn't right.

Its either a vacuum leak somewhere in the main vacuum line going to the selector switch or the switch itself is bad.

i recently just put 2 new knock sensors in car, and when you take off the intake manifold, you have to disconnect the vaccum line from the intake. the vents quit working after i replaced my knock sensors, and i plugged the line back up, i even checked it twice. could this have anything to do with it?

If the line connection to the T at the back is good, check the multiconnector at the brake booster. If that's good, then either you broke a line somewhere or pinched under the manifold (I did that one).

found the problem. there was like a 3/16 line on the passenger side of the motor that plugs into the back side of the intake, i didnt even realize it was there, guess i jerked it out when i pulled the intake off. it all works good now. thanks guys.
