Default Ported 853 pic

This is the 1st rough pass with rotary file/bur. Just basicly showing the general shape that it will end up. After I smooth it all out with a sandpaper roll I will show more progress.

Looks like you will be needing a new valve job, unless I just can't see it well enough.

What is it that you think you see in the pics? I have not touched the valve seat if that's what it looks like. Its hard to get the camera close enough without the picture being blurry and getting the light just right to see the detail.

What kind of power gain can you get from that?

Yeah, I could see a 20- 30 HP increase on home ported heads if done properly. For comparison, I pulled 34 RWHP more than a car with a TR230 and ls6 heads. I pulled 52 more than a stock headed f13 car, though he was tuned a little rich for the juice. Granted I run a slightly bigger cam. ( XER 232/234 .595/.598 112 +2 )

Those pics look good to me, although I cut a little deeper into the rocker bosses. Also be careful on the left hand side of the guide since if you cut any deeper youll hit the waterjacket. Hard to tell depth from the 2D picture, but it looks like you might be cutting it close.
