Default rear that can take m6 with 450+hp

i was gonna put a head/cam combo on an ls1 and mate it to a 6 speed and then drop it in my s10. what i need to know is wat rear can take 450+hp? my plan was to get a ford 8.8 since they are almost as good as a ford 9" but they bolt right in. what do u guys recommend?

my 12 bolt moser w/up grades from speed inc has taken all the **** i throw at it. 458hp 410 tq on a mustang dyno and over 600hp on the spray. the car is close to stock weight and she pulls 3 + foot wheelies,4-years no problems at all.

I am just wraping up a S10 build right now. I found a 8.6 Highwider axle and cut it to size, welded on a set of Moser 12 bolt style ends and put LT1 rear discs. I set up a 3.90 with a 33 spline spool and 1/2" studs. I am building this for about $1400.00 but figure a 9 inch to be a little more if you want some good parts installed.

sounds good man. happen to know any specs of the ford 8.8? i think those are 33 spline and are huge axles too.
