Installing QTP's this weekend, need some help

Installing QTP's this weekend, need some help I havent purchased any o2's or o2 extentions, are they mandatory or will the car just basically throw a code and run just a bit weird. I plan to have the car tuned to get rid of the problem. Also, which header gaskets should i get? I have heard that the stock GM header gaskets work fine. Are they metal or some other kind of material? thanks for the help...

you need the extentions! that is a must. the sims are not a must though.
How soon of a tune? how far of a drive?
stock ones from the delearship are the best...only go with those.

I actually just got my QTP headers in the other day after waiting over 2 months! Anyway inside the box there was a set of gaskets with the headers so i plan on just using those. I just ordered a set of extensions so hopefully it will all go together without too much trouble!

Good luck I got mine installed last weekend and we had trouble with the back bolts on both sides. The dipstick was stuck in there pretty good and for the driver side header we had to remove the oil filter and drain plug and it still didnt fit. We had to jack the engine up a little before it finally went in and it was still very tight that way. I had access to a lift and the teacher of the automotive program at the local college did most of the work. It took us a total of 7 hours to finish everything also my car has been jumped so your install may be a little easier. Once there on you will love them really makes a difference now i just need to get all the codes deleted good luck.

darn i was hoping the O2 were in different places so that i only needed one. that means i need another 24" obviously, well i will not be installing my headers tomorrow

Youll only need two 12" extensions, and even then you'll have some slack.
I didn't read anything on trimming stuff on the GM header gaskets, i used some new GM ones and had no problems with them straight from the package.
When you get to the drivers side header, get the car jacked high before you start grinding things, I estimated something like 19" from the floor to the k-member for mine to go up.
See the link in my sig for my experience installing this kit if you want, although most of the header install tutorials are more thourough than mine.

ok thanks for all your help... i will order my o2's and o2 extentions. The tune wont be for a while so i guess i better just go ahead and get the o2's. And thanks for the tip about the dipstick hole. My buddies and i are gonna install it on saturday or sunday. I Will post how it went. Thanks again guys...

make sure to have the car rediculously high for the drivers side to fit in there...It has to be so high that you think you're going to die when you put that one in there...The passenger side falls right in without a problem...
