Default It Runs! Smearin's T/A leaves the shop today (first Street Killer car)

Greg picked up his car last night to give it some drive time/break in the clutch... Thursday it will be coming back to dyno. Impressions so far - with the .68 A/R the turbo spools INSTANTLY... boost comes on the second the throttle is smashed and full boost happens at around 3000 rpm. What more can i say other than the kit performs as well as it looks. It feels like the car came from GM with a turbocharger.

No kidding...how does that stack up on the topend? A little small, but I guess we'll find out on Thursday huh? Didn't yall mention that if it is too small you're going to swap out to a larger housing? Looks awsome guys, keep up the nice work.

looks great does it have a base tune in it? It would suck to hurt the motor while waiting for the clutch to break in....

What turbo with that housing?

cheers,
Chris

Yea.. it has a tune.. and its a Garret 70.5 with a .68 a/r

in 2nd it has full boost at about 2700-3000 rpms

I put my new 315 nittos on yesterday and it doesnt want to keep the tires on the road.. I havent taken it to 6k yet.. I think max ive had it is 4,500 rpms... and its pretty nasty it doesnt sound like a turbo car with the cam and exhaust..

Looks awesome. Would you reccomend this kit for a stock engine (in other words would it work well at 7ish psi?). I assume tuning, injectors and fuel pump upgrades would be in order, anything else? And where is the battery relocated to?

this looks tempting. in the process of having LME building a 408 iron long block assy for me with compression of 9.0.1 with dished pistons and afr 225 heads. itll be a month till i get the motor. what kind of time frame are we looking at now that you are possilbly getting caught up. and is it possible to have the intercooler mounted up right instead of facing the ground. i am also not running a/c so i dont need any relocator kit. and you also have the option for a bigger turbo?

If memory serves me correctly, it is on a stock engine. This kit is probably what I'll be installing eventually. I hope turbo LS1's become quite common. Especially forged motors running high boost. It's time to show the racing world (ahem street racing ) what the LS1 under boost is capable of. A lot don't know.
