Ok, i've got a 96 ss. I went to the parts store to buy a K&n air filter. He looks it up for me and gives it to me. I pay and bring it home. When i get home it doesn't fit. I take it back, and the guy tells me they don't list the ss. So he phones around and orders me another K&N, with size it should fit. I have to wait a day now. I just went there now and to my suprise it doesn't fit either, it's to big! I'm going nuts. They've screwed me over twice. Do they make an air filter for the 96 SS? If they do please give the part #! I'm going over there soon to hopefully get this straightend out!

I just saw on the internet that a guy with a 96 ss had a K&N air filter and the part number is 33-2018. The guy at the part store gave me a 33-2118!!

That should help you find if it is the correct one.

The 33-2018 says it is for Jeeps.

The only filter on K&N site for your year F body says it is for all V8 except SS models. I am guessing they don't make a filter for the SS, but the guy that you saw found one that fit and is using that.

K&N does NOT have a filter that will exactly fit the SS.
