Default 400+ rwhp w/ Ported LS1 Heads & Cam?

Could I push of 400+ rwhp with a set ported and polished stock heads and a Tr 224/224 - 112 cam? This is the setup I plan on running and was curious if some good ported heads will put me over 400. If not will a tune then help me reach my mark?

more than likely. if you're an A4, you'll probably dance right around that mark, M6 you should definately be over.

Should be there I had that cam with full boltons (stock heads) in my old setup and made 396/383 hp/tq. You could even have the heads shaved a few thousands for some more compression.

Yeah you'll be over the 400rwhp mark I had a 224/228 .581 .588 113LSA that made 390 to the tire with LT's, ORY, Lid through a 12 bolt w/ 4.11's. If you get the heads milled .030 and get the heads stage 2 ported by a sponsor on here I'm guessing 410-420 RWHP, anyone else agree?

Go 224/228 cam, w/ a set of AFRs or TSP LS6 heads. Both cams have about the same idle, but the 224/228 cam will give you more across the band. Either one though would get you over 400rwhp in an F-Body, as long as you've got the supporting bolt-ons and LS6 intake. If your going to spend the $$$, might as well do it right the first time.

Don't see why not. I dynoed 350/RWHP 388/RWTQ with long-tubes, cat-back, lid, de-screened MAF, under drive balancer, and a Jet programmable PCM.........

....just found out the car has an LS6 block, if that means a hill of beans

Not worth the try, go with at least an LS6 casting. your guaranteed 400+ with stage 2 portiing

LS1 heads (and I'm not comparing them to aftermarket heads) flow great just as they came from the factory. A GOOD port & polish job on a set of LS1 heads, plus the cam you listed (make sure you go to aftermarket pushrods) will make good power. You already have a decent intake/throttle body set-up, which will help. A spring up-grade would help out a lot, too. Dump the HyperTech, and get a GOOD tune, done by someone who KNOWS what they are doing, and you'll be very close, or maybe slightly over 400 RWHP...........in my opinion.

I came up 50 HP short of that with nothing but bolt-ons, no tune, and the smooth, round, lobe-less OEM cam. Yeah, the JET programmable PCM helped, but that's a far cry from data-logging, an LS1Edit re-flash, and a good dyno-tune.

I wouldn't go much further with a pre '01 engine, though, unless you do some serious bottom-end work 1st.
