Default Battery relocation w/ wet (non-Optima) battery

I did a search and read all the associated battery relocation threads, but I didn't find anything about relocating a wet battery, as most everyone is running an Optima now. I'm not relocating/placing the battery in a box to pass tech, but b/c I need to clear up some space in the engine bay. Would this battery relocation kit from Summit work? I guess the two main things I need to know are A) does a wet battery require some sort of outside air ventilation, and B) will the 2-gauge wire included in the kit be thick enough? Any insight on the subject is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the responses, guess I'll just cut about a 3/4" hole in the bottom of the box and run a tube from there out through the body somewhere. Have to dig around back there and see if there's already a hole w/ a grommet/plug in it that I can just pop out.

I thought the NHRA was passing a new rule that said the battery has to be a dry cell in a box....... or if it wasnt the had to be a barrier... ie wall between you and the battery.... like the one wolfe sells. Sounds cheaper and easier for a dry cell battery to me...... at least thats what i heard..... dont know cause i already have a dry cell batt.

A new red top is like a hundred bucks, plus you still have to buy the mounting hardware, wire, etc. This way it's only 50 bucks Now if I can just manage not to turn my car into a gas chamber in the process...
