Thumbs up

Congrats!

Nick I don't know what you were thinking (hoping for) but I was guessing 505-510, 470 tq, verbalizing 475-480hp to keep from disappointing some people if it did not hit the high mark! But I always told Chris ,...."there is NO reason it should not hit the 500 mark if done correctly!"

Now for the N20!

Corrected to boot! NICE!

Nice numbers. Did you ever flow the intake before you put it on? Gotta love the ET heads. I do!!! Seems my LSX90mm intake isn`t keeping up on my set-up!

Thats freaking awesome for a 383ci thru an auto and a 12-bolt!!!!! Some auto/12-bolt 427+ci motors cant even do it
Does the SD tune make it easier to tune and/or get more power out of a motor than a MAF tune????
BTW, CONGRATS!!!

There is pretty much no economical way a maf can be run on this car, if you saw the intake, and where it was you would understand...... it was the only alternative. Even if something were to be fabricated to some form of intake piping to maf it would be a restriction, so yes, the SD tune allowed for this setup to reach it's full potential. However it is more involved in tuning the car, a lot more time consuming but well worth it.

Congrats man!! Most of the Auto 408s aren't putting that down much rwhp/rwtq. That's obviously a good combination you have. Now get us some track numbers!

BTW,,,,This was on 91 california 91 octane.

Question,,,,,will 100 octane help at all at the track or will the tune have to change to gain anything?? With 11.4 comp I hear it wont help and it will help. Just some opinions will help at this point

Adding octane on a car that is tuned for lower octane will actually hurt performance. Motors make the most HP on the brink of detonation, so if Nick optimized your car with 91 octane, then run that. If yu wanted to run 100 all the time and get tuned for that, then I'm sure it would help, but it would get expensive after a while.

Yea, I suggested a little 100 on the hot days, he has no IAT so no timing can be pulled when its hot....

We would have to add some timing in there to make more power with 100 octane, we are already at 26-27, I would say its a minimal gain, probably not worth that extra 5 hp to pay 6 bucks a gallon for. now with nitrous, thats a different story. On my car I run about 28 degrees of timing nitrous I like to run 104 with 150 kick that actually makes 225ish.

Question

Nice power but why the drop about 6200 to 6300 rpms? It looks like it was going to carry even higher before that point???

No IAT sensor? I thought there were quite a few pcm points that used IAT as calculation variable.

Not sure EXACTLY, but we thought it had something to do with turbulance going into the throttle body. The graph was actually worse with the hood open, closed it and that dip at 6200 wasnt so dramatic. It doesnt feel like its dropping at all when Im driving it, but im not sure how much your going to feel 10hp when your at 6500+ RPM. It does look like it was going to carry to about 520-530 though doesnt it??

Yes it does! What kind of valvesprings you are running and how they are setup? Im getting some valvetrain instability at about 6600 rpms on my setup running PRC duals. Not that it really matters because it is well after my power peak. However, on this graph it looks like maybe a few more ponies could even be had.
