Yep, an oldie but a goodie. I think that's about 2 or 3 years ago they built that. I like the "headers" for the intake. Always nice to see that motor !

yeah oldie, i think it's a 440ci and they had to upgrade to a larger style camshaft cause it kept breaking the smaller ones.

I believe the car was "outlawed" before it ever made a pass.

It means they denied it while it was teching in... probably didn't have ALL the safety features a car of the caliber should have...

It was outlawed at all sanctioned races (NSCA, PRO etc) because everyone was crying about single or twin turbos and no one had ever written rules for a quad turbo. The motor/car was a huge disappointment. They were allowed to run at Orlando at the World Street Finals and only made one pass. It shook the tires real hard so they aborted the run, the second pass it dropped a valve. I dont think they ever tried it again with the quad turbos. I think they later on sold the motor to Mike Bowman in California, put twins on it and he had alot of succes with it.

Very cool looking engine, especially the intake manifold. It seems like a huge waste though. Why would you use 4 turbos to make 25 lbs of boost? Just to say you did?
