Default loudest exhaust??

looking to get something louder, i have a cutout, and i have magnaflow, with the mods in my sig....but at idle its way to quiet with the cutout capped. so what would yall suggest to be louder, with good airflow. no $$$ for true duals... lol

How loud do you want to go.. lol I had Pace Setter Shorties on it, 2.5" Y pipe, and the factory Cat, and a Dynomax 3" Bullet dropped infront of the rear axle. It sounds like a Harley(Cam) at 600 rpm idle. It sets off car alarms at 2000 rpms. There is a sound link below. My Dynomax is a little louder than my friend's Magnaflow, and he has a cut Cat. I am soon getting the Hooker Super Comp LT's with the 3" Y on it, and still dropping it infront of the axle, with the Cat. I find that it adds more base, and it's not as raspy.
Question: how is your ground clearance with the Hookers, I have an Eibach kit, and it's lowered 1.5".

If you want to be loud at idle all the time, why not just leave your cutout open then? Otherwise, the only cat-back system out there that will be "loud" at a warm idle is the SLP Loudmouth or a wide-open Borla (nothing is louder than the Loudmouth though). Although I personally think both of those systems sound like crap (especially without cats).

I agree, I left my Cat in, and that gave it some crazy Base. I can't wait to hear how it is with the 3" LT's on it. As it accelerates, you can feel the base in the car at different RPM zones. Everything inside rattles, not alot, but enough to where you feel it in the seats, and they are fabric. I love it, lets people that ride in it know that there is some **** cookin under the hood...

See i think most people here would hate that. We all love the sound of the exhaust but it belongs outside not inside. The nice thing about having a good sounds exhaust is that it sounds great outside but you can't hear it much inside. If you are having that much resonance inside your car sooner or later it will sound like a can of nails everytime you are driving. Perhaps invest insome sound insulating to get rid of the rattles and vibrations...it will prolong the life of your car.

Hell, you could do it cheaper than that. Looking at Summit here, two Dynomax Bullets would be $67.76. A pair of Summit weld on collector flanges is $15.95. Pay $8.95 for their shipping and handling and your total is $92.66. All you got to do is pay the guy to weld up the flanges to the mufflers and you've got loud *** exhaust for a little over $100.

If I was gonna build a max effort car that's how I would do it. Just weld on the mufflers straight off the headers.

The '94 has SLP 2OTL and it is LOUD to say the least. I don't dare start it after midnight due to the neighbors newborn.

The '95 has a Magnaflow setup and it is the perfect happy medium in my opinion.

Both setups have "cats" with 3.5' mandrel bent piping.

Flowmaster aka Blowmaster = Loudness
Magnaflow = Performance

My .02

True duals out the sides, $50, two car chemistry 2 disk header inserts, $90, = loud as hell...

no drone either...

I do not have side molding though.

My old system was true duals dumped before the axle with an H pipe and 2 bullets, that costed about $160 plus the $70 for the bullets. Not to loud at idle but at WOT it was pretty loud. Now by me saying not to loud at idle, you also have to imagine how loud it is now.

Yea I am 19 here. Gas is killing me on my 1997 T/A. I have been trying too decide and on an exhaust myself. I was thinking magnaflow cus it is decent price, and if I decide to put LT's and stuff on magnaflow will sound good I think and SLP will sound good stock but with headers, would be too loud. I dunno my .02

Cutouts will get old fast, although useful on the track. Its nice to have a loud exhaust all the time, not just when you open the $30 cutout.

I've heard alot of exhausts, from edelbrock, hooker,Borla, Magnaflow and true duals ( GMMG I think ).

SLP is the best ( true duals are real nice too ), unless you have !Cat, then I recommend the Loudmouth II.
