200 shot was fun!
Well i got the jets in and the timing tuner set were i wanted it so i decided to go play. I found a open road and hit it from a 30 punch ! Ok so i loved it i decided to go from a 55 punch and end in the top of 3rd gear, well as i did the tranny just started slipping and then boom no more 3rd or 4th gears. O well i had fun and it felt really strong so now all i have is first and a slipping 2nd gear.

I just took delivery on Nitro Dave's TH400, 4000 Yank, Reverse Valve body, Trans brake, B&M shifter, drive shaft and flex plate etc etc etc. Just in case. I have to say so far my 4L60E's fluids are nice and red still, hopefully allowing for the new tranny to be a winter project...btw...thanks Dave. Oh yea ... 200 + shots f/n rule....my car feels like a damn cruise missle. LOL.

Im not really sure what the full potental of a 200-300 shot would feel like on my car untill i have a good tranny and stall considering the built 4l60e and 3200 stall that i supposly have run like **** and most it has ever stalled to is 1800. Im wanting to get my tranny and stall, long tube headers, 90/90 setup and break into some deep 10s.

Hmmm Nitrous meet 4L60E....4L60E meet death I went thru a couple 60E's then finally got tired of bandaid and went the TH350 route, its handled the juice like a champ. Macon, get hope yours lasts till winter. Nothing like cutting into good weather cruise time to swap out trans.

Is the T56 6spd better equipped to handle high hp applications than the auto's?
I have heard that the automatics are significantly weaker than 6 spds, but auto's produce significantly better ET's.
Can anyone shed any light on this please??

just like the M6 weak at the clutch the 4L60E is weak period. Can they built, debateable for sure. There is only 1 60E on this site that might break into the 9's with one. All the others are TH350/400's. They are superior to the M6 as for strength and produce quicker ET's. I've yet to see any of the 4L80E results, strong as 400 but with overdrive.

Now I have a stage III built rear differential with both hardened output shafts and 3:90 gears. That diff better hold up to what ever I throw at it. My concern now is the tranny! I also broke my Drive shaft and replaced it with a carbon fiber one. I'm gonna add a 150hp shot soon which should put me in the 10's (hopefully) but now I'm just concerned about my tranny! I'll just run it till it breaks hoping it won't.
I'm thinking about getting the tranny strut brace that your talking about, for added insurance.
