Ok, I am running the HPT 2Bar SD for the 98's. I have my commanded AFR at 1.13 across the board and am still getting like 11.7 to 12.0:1 AFR's on the wideband. My VE table is at zero at WOT (was positive and kept adding till it zeroed out). Now I have values in the 115 range in 100 Kpa cells over 3K RPM. Any ideas?

Commanded as in, this is what the scanner echoes back
while running? Or commanded, like what is in some tune
table or other? Because there's a lot of modifiers and
layers that meddle, between the tables and the final fuel
multiplier commanded.

Using the factory narrow bands to tune your VE?

perhaps OLFA table is richer than what you are commanding? (PCM will use OLFA if if it's richer than PE)

Commanded as in the PE table vs Stoich.

I am using a WB02 but for tunning only. It isn't mine and I have to give it back.

I thought that OLFA was only used in Open Loop. I am using closed loop and am just using the wideband temporarly (until I get it all dialed in).

I am borrowing the wideband and have to give it back soon.

oh.. when I saw that you were 11.7-12.0 and wanted to lean out... I assumed you were talkng about open loop


what do the stock O2 sensors show? What are your fuel trims?

keep in mind wot is open loop...so it still applies...if that olfa table is richer then the pe it wont lean out. At least thats my understanding.

Or more like 12.702:1

When your wideband and narrowbands don't agree then it's time to verify your wideband. If it's okay, then it's time to either fix the problem with the narrow-bands, or simply ignore them.

It sounds like you've just adjusted your high-load VE cells too high based on what your narrow-bands tell you. Personally I don't trust narrow-bands at all.
This is one of the down-sides to using the easy way of VE tuning.

In a nut shell, lowering my VE (as White stated above) I was able to get control over my PE table and get AFR right.

That sounds right to me.
If you still find you are getting positive fuel trims in the high-load cells that carry over to WOT, you might consider redefining the boundaries of the high-load cells as was suggested in other threads by Jimmyblue.
