Drag Racing Results - Disapointing track results with P1sc.
A couple of disapointing runs from today. The car is an 02 Z06 with an A&A P1sc at 6psi. 550rwhp/500rwtq. BFG 295's.
60ft-----1.82
1/8------7.19
1/8------101.81
1/4------11.01
1/4------129.46
60ft------1.87
1/8-------7.20
1/8-------101.76
1/4-------11.02
1/4-------129.65
I was pretty disapointed that I didn't get into the 10's but it was bog or spin out there. Some times it was bog and then spin. I couldn't 60ft for any thing. It would spin bad on the shifts as well. It also turns out that my belt was slipping and I was only seeing 5psi of boost and only getting 12* of total timing. I don't know what is up with the timing. I had four runs in the 11.0's @129+. What I don't understand is how when I was NA and running only 405rwhp/385rwtq I ran consistant 11.3x's @ 123+. Granted, todays DA was 2,300ft higher than then. But I have an extra 150rwhp/115rwtq. And the curve is up all over the place. So it isn't area under the curve. WTF. I will get the belt and timing issue under control and take it back to the track.

Dyno numbers are corrected, dragstrip numbers are not..
Blowers lose boost/power at altitude and in hot weather, it will drop off just as bad as an N/A car. But 130mph is good for mid 10s, you need some better tires and have to 60 foot harder. Just have to figure it out, hope its not on a stock clutch ;)

a couple things:
#1 - What I don't understand is how when I was NA and running only 405rwhp/385rwtq I ran consistant 11.3x's @ 123+. Granted, todays DA was 2,300ft higher than then.
that DA shift is good for 2-3 tenths slower, so there's a little bit there.
#2 - BFG 295's: 60ft-----1.82, 60ft------1.87 Some times it was bog and then spin. I couldn't 60ft for any thing.
That's a huge loss of time, not to mention you also brought up spinning on shifts. 129 mph is a mid 10 second car on a good run. What's the suspension set-up? Something that can handle 400 rwhp may not do so well under 550 rwhp. Get some sticky tires and watch the 60 foot (as well as your et) fall.
There's a lot of time left on the table, plus you mentioned timing, belt slipping, etc. Not a bad starting point, but racing can expose flaws that you may need to fix to make everything work together and get you a killer 1/4 time.
Good luck getting her faster!
Derek
Thanks guys. I know the belt is slipping because it hits 5lbs and then just stops. There is black powder all over the engine bay. Plus I had to use a 4.25 pulley belt on a 4.10 pulley. So that probably wasn't the best idea in the world. I need to get some better tires for sure. The suspension is totaly stock. I think the only thing you can do is HAL adjustables. There is just alot more weight on the front end now.

Those times and especially mph are great considering the sixty. You have easy mid 10's with a 1.50 sixty man :)

Keep it up man .

Brett,
Damn brother you are moving, and there is no way I would think you would not be in the 10s. Stay clear from the shocks dude as several folks on the other forum have had very minimal improvements with shocks.
I think most of it is in the track. Nam does not take much and with all the extra torq you have now, it must be a bitch to hook. I say use the BFGs for the street and get some ET St radials (borrow Waynes?). Hell want to make some passes with my drag pack? I did buy 16 CCWs with skinnies and ET ST bias plies, but have not made a pass in them yet. My car is up @ CAM now putting in a new 390s. Last one made 4 passes :bang: before it ate itself. Give me a call if you want some slicks and skinnies for sunday.
Dave
Thanks for the offer Dave. I might take you up on it in a week or so. I won't be able to make it out there this weekend.

You need to update your sig man :)
ET streets will shock the drivetrain a little less than the DR's. (Less likely to wheel hop)
Do you have DTE brace in the car? I would be very concerned about diff/trans breakage when you start to hook.

I bet you were losing timing because of your IAT temps. Depending on how hot they were the factory parameters are set to pull 3-4 degrees of timing and maybe more. I am pretty sure it sarts pulling timing at 111 degrees +/-.
Tim
CHRISPY. No I don't have a trans brace. But I do have a hardend output shaft. That is another reason I am some what leary about the track right now.
Tim. Thanks. Some one else brought that up. Is there any way around this? Can you set the retard a little lower? The weather was actually better at the track than it was on the dyno. And it was the first run after a half hour cool down. I didn't think it would pull any timing.
