Default GM valves...hp limits?

Im going to be putting a L-92 based 427 in my car (L-92 block 4.07" bore with 4.1" stroke) and am thinking about using the L-92 heads with mild exhaust work. I would like to spray the house down on my car with a direct port dual stage (secondary fuel system and the like around 400 hit combined). I cant seem to locate a 2.16" intake valve anywhere besides the stock GM unit (ill be using 1.6" stainless exhaust).

Should I just try and cram a stainless 2.2" valve in the head (dont know if these will work all that well on a 4.07" bore) or just run the stock valves and not worry about it?

Thanks.
Nate

Yeah but are they gonna be able to handle the cylinder pressures introduced on a motor that will make around 550 rwhp with 400 hit on top?

I'm using the LS6 hollow stem valves. I've put about 25,000 miles on the engine, used a ton of nitrous, and probably have close to a hundred dyno pulls on the engine and it's never had a head related problem other than lifting the heads a couple of times. Runs 6.7s in the 1/8th. So I guess they are working fine for me.

The stock GM valves are pretty damn good. I remember brian Tooley old me he sent a set of stock GM 2.00 intake/ 1.55 exhaust valves out of a regular LS1 to a place that does fialure analysis. he also sent a Ferrea and a Turkish knockoff valve. The stock GM and Ferrea where nearly identical in quality..thats to say...very very high. The knockoff was complete crap.

I dont think you will have any issues running stock valves. I think your first issue would be when you get to a level that will require an upgrade in material for the exhuast valve. But man....thats a pretty big shot.

Id just use the stock GM stuff if you gonna be 1000 hp or less

If it was me I'd go for the 2.2" stainless and just cut them down to the largest size that will still work for your chambers. The side benefit of cutting down larger valves is you get more meat and a thicker margin, which gives you more room for a better radius job on the valve.
