Default Anyone ever put this stuff in thier engine????

Any of you guys ever use this stuff? I just picked some up at autozone today... been seeing the advertisements of it on the Speed channel.... the cars got about 103k miles as of now... I'm basically trying to find out if it has any bad effects on the LS1... Don't want to put it in, then my engine blow... know what i mean?

As I said over on LS2, if you are gonna do something like that, try Auto-Rx. Pretty highly regarded on bobistheoilguy.com and I've even tried it with success (at least in the area of reducing oil consumption).

I've only ever used Marvel Mystery Oil. I add some to my gas tank once in a while and I've used it in a few different motors. It may be snake oil as well, but I think it makes a little difference. I dumped some in my mother in laws car the other day and you could literarily hear a difference after a couple of minutes. It got alot quieter.

If you maintian a LSx series engine properly it will last way past 100K..got 109k on mine and it still runs great and it gets run hard all the time.. ..not abused ... but it is a hot rod and it gets driven like one..

yea... i run mine pretty tough sometimes as well... i mean, it's hard not too!!!

I just put some "High Mileage Slick 50" in it at the last oil change... so far so good... no negative effects that i can tell... my dad swears by the stuff...

DONT DO IT, and please do a search, I posted a while ago on what I found in the motor I tried this on, to put it short, all it did was gather up in the lifter valley and block some oil drainback holes. Take it back and get a refnd

Im about to turn 100K. Had the heads off the car a few thousand miles ago and the bores still looked great. Still had the crosshatching, and didnt have any ridges on any of the cylinders. (without any additives, just quality synthetics)

Well I had great success with that stuff in my old 90 Grand Am beater...
Before I started to use it, that car would eat about 1 quart of oil per 750 miles (rings were shot) ..after I started using it, it would only eat 1 quart per 3000 miles....so I dumped a can in at every oil change. Great stuff when used on cars with bad rings....don't think it would benefit a car that runs fine.

http://www.auto-rx.com/

As said before, if you are worried that your engine is a bit "old", that is the only stuff to use. Ignore the cheesy website... it works. I am buying a higher mileage LS1 soon and it will be the first thing I do.
