what is the regular rev limit for an LT1 automatic?

I think mine hits at 6300. Not sure, its been a while since ive hit it.

ok let me rephrase...when will i lose power on an automatic and it shifting, i thought it was 5700

mine is at 6100 and im losing power at the top end

i could need new plugs/wires though

I think its 5700, but dont quote me on it.
I took some buddies up to 145 sunday night, and if I remember correctly thats what it is. I dont floor and hold down my Z very often, but it its around there.

Stock redline is 5700, shift points at 5600. I got mine tuned to redline at 6200, and shift at 6100. The reason you are losing power in the top end is the fact that the engine is stock. I have the Hotcam, that is good up to 6000rpm, and holds power until it shifts, and shifts into the powerband, so it goes like hell... Stock engine is only going to do so much. Cam and Heads help nicely.

5800 is stock and I had mine adjusted to 6000 in tuning. Kinda strange tho because the other day in the rain I did a huge break burn and I looked at the rpm's and they were at 7000.

well i need to know when the stock rev limiter is at on a 96 TA because i want to put my Mallory limiter 100 rpms before that..

my first every outing to the track i pulled up to the waterbox and gave her hell..... rpms went straight to the limiter it was bouncing around in the 6-6100 area

k nevermind you did say for autos i dont know if they are any different for m6's

i know bryan or whatever from psmforless says it is at 5700-5800 and auto trans shifts at 5600 at the latest (regardless of what your factory cluster tach is saying.. cuz they are inaccurate anyways)
