Default header install this weekend. any last helpful hints?

hey guys,

new exhaust system is listed in sig.
i will have a full day to do this at my gf's mom's shop. i have my own lift, and all the tools imaginable.

I have read sooo many instruction guides for header install and i think i have it down pat now, but just wanted to start this thread to see if anybody had any small helpful hints to make the job go faster.

i bought the following things to help me out:

1. new plugs if i happen to break old ones (ngk tr55)
2. pb blaster
3. wd-40
4. header bolts (3/8-16 x 3/4" long) ... this is the right size?
5. copper header gaskets

any comments or hints would be appreciated!

Probably count on not finishing in one day, especially if you are alone.

just be patient, and it won't be that bad. took me and a friend good part of a day to do it on our backs in a driveway, it should come alittle easier for you with the lift.

yeah three guys and a lift starting at 6 am. You should be done by the evening. Good luck and hope you like them!

I know it sucked to install them but its awesome knowing you didnt pay a crap load of money to have someone else do it. Its all worth it in the end

Put new motor mounts in while you are installing, I didn't and I need to take the headers back off now to do them

I did my first shorties in about 10 hours. Put the car on jack stands, cussed and threw some tools.. Then it took 30 min to get them out to investigate the Head Gasket problem. That pissed me off...
