Thumbs up Very Cheap Stall!!!

I have an LT1 and this is my first fuel injected car i have tried to build and one of my good buddies from Jegs told me you can put a 95' s10 V6 torque converter in and stall up to 2400 RPMs... he said you wouldnt believe how much better it runs and i got one for like 60 dollars... i dont know how true this is but i was wanting some more input... they are both 4L60E so i dont know why it wouldnt work... thanks guys

I have heard this also. There was an impala ss in our shop at work with the LT4 conversion kit. The guy came back to us to talk about the car and said he still needed to put 3.73's in it and a stall from a s10 which would stall higher in a lt1. He told me it is a similar or the same converter to one in a 90's corvette. He said you can get them new for around $150. I am interested as well for more info on this converter for a 700r4 swap in a 78 truck.

If you said 3000+ rpm's Id say that's awesome but 2400? Just go buy a fuddle for a couple of bucks more.

2400m is weak , you must be 3000 plus in the stall. I'd go with trusty names like Yank or Vig. And yes a stall makes a HUGE difference.

The S-10 converter thing was popular with the b-body guys 4-5 years ago but over time and with any real power they began to lay the fins over and stall would creep up while efficiency plummeted. Edge, Yank, Vig 9.5" converters are the hot thing now. The good 9.5" converters like these can drive very well and cool as well as reducing rotating weight at crankshaft rpms by 20+lbs which is HUGE. I recently went from a 2800 Edge to a 3400 ProEdge and it still drives great before this I had a 2600 Level 10 and it was JUNK drove bad and hot.

Fuddle is the way to go. It's reliable and it's a great price with great results. 3200 stall
