Default Update on the 4.8/4L80e combo

So here is a post that talks about how the small engine and big trans dont seem to want to work together. I do have faith that Keith will figure this out.......I hope....

Hows your truck coming anyway? Is it together? Have you ran it yet?

Yeah, that was my rat. Its all back together now, ready for some more track beatings! No mercy on that poor thing. Since I took the blower off, I'm going to spray a 400 or 500 shot. (up from 300)

Good so far. Still haven't got a good race tune. A bud of mine with the same set up just went 11.2 on a weak 60' Hopefully I can get close to that. I'm lookin' for either a bigger blower or a little go juice now though.

I'll have to look it up, I don't remember, but it was off from his norm. I think 1.68's? I know some guys at this power level grabbing 1.50's. I gotta get some new slicks, can't seem to break 1.7's.

I dynoed on my street tune at 540/640. The race tune has not been dynoed yet. It was too colt to push it last fall. I can tell you this "race" tune is .2 better than the street tune.
I have the 3.73 gears, and did not realize the OD ratio in my trans was different than the earlier ones. My 60' times have been 1.61 to 1.7, but tire spin is an issue. I will be going to 30" slicks soon. The only real different mod I have is a 2800 stall PI. I felt that I needed the extra stall to help this baby blower out.
I have not upgraded the fuel system yet, but will do so to run the juice.
BTW my 11.2 run was 7.237@96.55 in the 1/8th. I have had some conversations with Charles at Magnum Powers about some changes that may help. If they are successful I will post it up. Keep it safe and take small steps forward. Trust JDM to get you where you want to be. I have run 6 days at the track since I put my motor in, and ran a new best every time except one.(poor weather conditions).
Jim

This is an email I got from the guy running basically the same set up, and I have already done all the fuel system mods. He has the gear advantage, and a little looser convertor, but otherwise, fairly similar.
