Street Racing & Kill Stories - raced a mangum r/t

i usually don't street race but this guy was asking for it, weaving in and out of traffic and all. we both line up at a red light of a 3 lane highway, nobody in front of us. i didn't launch it from the start, as i didn't want to get the car sideways with cars on either side of me. he is a little further up than me so my nose was at about his rear quater panel. i didn't launch it at green since i didn't want to get the car sideways with cars on either side of me. i got about halfway through first then nailed it. he didn't launch on green either but he nailed it as soon as he heard me step on it. i chirped a few gears and pulled pretty decently on him and by time i cut it off at 70 (traffic was coming up) he was just at my rear bumper.

i'm not sure if it was awd or rwd, but it was quicker than i expected. according to dodge.com the magnum rt is a 5.7 hemi, 340 hp. weights over 4k though.

so you got the jump and he was at your rear bumper? That does not sound right at all.

LOL, yea you have to watch those things. Far from slow, but also far from fast.

He must have been modded some. I think they are a mid 14 sec car so you should of had a couple of lengths on him.

those thangs are no joke. there is this black one around my area that i always see around the local dodge dealer,cant tell if its a young or old guy(or even girl???) all black w/5% tint. about a month ago it was a kinda of drizzle day out here and i notice him behind me, its a three lane expressway and we are both in the middle i go right he goes left due to a car in front of us so i get into my lane 1st and gun it i have a what i think a car lead on him but i would say not even 3 sec later hes in front of me and mind you its starting to rain now iand im not giving excuses but i wasnt giving her full throttle but i thought it would be enough and i say about a mile later that car was at least 5 cars ahead of me. i was so sad but yet amazed,let him roll up on me on dry pavement :drive:

Magnums slightly slower than the 300c/Charger so that would put them in the 14.3-14.5 range. They have the option of AWD, so they can be pretty sick in the rain. Not sure how fast an SRT8 Model would be but prolly mid 13.s

not to big on all of there models but this one had a srt8 badge on it,still had dealer plastic plates so i dont think they just slapped it on.pretty fast though

those posting mid 14s can't drive em. I've been reading everywhere 13.7-14.2s. And those srt-8s 13.0-13.4. A few posting some 12s, but not ordinary.

charger/ magnum R/T's ARE JOKES. stock. pathectic in my opinion. they run low to mid 14's and still only trap around 102 mph. so their not Roll beasts like everyone makes them to be either. all that power is of no use with 4100 lbs. not the srt models are a different story

When you guys would see my trap, you'd laugh your ass off :) Then again my car does weigh 4300lbs, is as aerodynamic as a brick, and so on

10.9 @ under 95 sounds like he hit the brakes to me. No way it was a clean run. My friend runs 12.2@109 and THATS pretty extreme in and of itself imho.

a regal GS, smaller pully intake and exhaust can pull good on a Hemi. I've watched a video. Pretty funny how much it can pull.

he didnt hit his brakes and it didnt sound like het got off the gas. i dunno. he had huge slicks. and launched faster than any car ive ever seen.

You put that Hemi is a Mid 90's AWD Stealth body, with a S/c and whamo.

when dodge says 340 hp, they mean 270 at the wheels. (R/T model)
their creative advertising blows.
they are peppy tho and it's now pretty easy to mod em. Mine is now at 316/350 and will do mid 13s on 20" rims. Weighs 4400 pounds.

OK, I'm not gonna lie....this is probably....no....definately the dumbest thread I've ever seen.

Who cares about the R/T's....They are heavy and slow, not even a performance car. The SRT8 is the one that is somewhat fast.
