Default 5th gear?

Well I just turned 25,000 miles on car today, not a daily driver. ? is today car will not go into 5th without grinding in it, what could cause this? Any advise

Well just got it repaired for all to know. The problem turned out to be a plastic wear part on the fork going bad the stripping the gear, cost for the repair $2500.00

Worn fork pads> poor gear engagement> gear jump out> clashing shift> permanent damage to fork(bend) and 5th drive gear( the clutch teeth). Its what happens when you don't address a concern when it first comes arround. The pull , teardown and replacement of the synchro assembly, drive gear and shift fork along with the install - 2500 is still high but not outlandish.
