Question spark plug wires

putting headers on my car should i do over the value cover wires or leave them were there at

Its' much safer to relocate them to the top. They will be easier to maintain and will stay away from the heat.

It's just a matter of how you route them. I've had over the valve cover setup and still burnt wires. Now I run them underneath the headers and used a wire coat hanger to guide the wires away from the headers. No extra cost.

On an LT-1? With the opti-spark? You'd need some really long wires and special wire looms to do that. Also, if you're talking about a Firebird/Camaro installation, the alternator, power steering pump and air pump crowd the front of the engine, right where you'd have to route the wires.

You can keep the regular wires in the regular location, just make sure they are routed away from the headers. Over the valve cover wires come just as close to the headers so all you're really getting is a different look, no different functionality. Save the extra money for other mods.

If you decide to go underneath, do yourself a favor and use fire sleeves.
