Will I lose the deadspot of the 2.73 gearing if I go to 3.42

It may help. It will run the car through the RPM range quicker.

Yea, it should help a bit. I had a '95 TA w/ 2.73's and the dead spot was bad but my '98 WS6 has 3.42's and it's not as bad. I'd probably even step on up to 3.73's, if your going for a gear change.

I believe that stall would kill the dead spot more than the gears, but they should put a noticeable dent in the dead spot.

It's a night and day difference, going from 2.73 to 3.42. It will certainly wake it up.

I have headers lid stock stall and tune. What kind of numbers of increase can I expect going from 2.73s to 3.42s?

The dead spot is caused by the stock(POS) torque converter. It will still be there when you change the gears, but it will get you out of the dead spot quicker.

The deadspots will still be there you will just move through them quicker. Get a 3500 stall and you will forget what a deadspot is.
MyTA99 expect 3 tenths to a half second from 2.73s to 3.73s and a whole second or more with a stall of 3500+.

gears wont help that dead spot much, it will still be there, just in a different spot. Getting a stall gets rid of it completely.
