Default Opinions Needed...Loudmouth & Headers

A have a Loudmouth exhaust.

From what I hear and read, about 70% of the people I've gotten opinions from say the Loudmouth doesnt sound good with a !cat and LT headers.

Is this true?
Ls1sounds.com has many files, but only a few LT1's with SLP.

I'm looking to get headers in the near future.
Either NICE Mids or Longs.

Just like the thread says, what are your opinions on this?
Anyone have sound clips?

Thank you in advance.

is that why I'm crazy, I blew a drvers side cat a few days ago so until I can get two new cats I'm on open headers, my neighbors love me, to answer your question LT's and LM w/o cats sounds like **** plain and simple, with cats it's tolerable.

It sounds horrible. I have stepped LT's/ORY/and the original LM, not the LM2. It's loud as **** and raspy as hell. It actually hurts my ears when my RPM's start reaching the 2200+ mark. Yes, it sounds completely badass at idle and at WOT it sounds like nascar. However, it is absolutely horrendous for any sort of daily driver. I'll try to get a vid up tomorrow. I took one a while back but the sound sucks on it. It's actually here, http://www.student.seas.gwu.edu/~jpo...8/WarmIdle.avi . Take a listen if you want, but there is so much drone you can barely hear the rasp on the video. It's 10x worse in person.

however what these people arent telling you is that you do have a few options you can do to cut down the drone & rasp. I personally have an 18in bullet in my I pipe. Ive yet to have anyone tell me it sounds bad. Is it still loud? Yes, but I heard it for the first time without me in it and its loud but sounds good IMO. I have videos of my car boltons revving and with the cam idling.

If you're gonna get headers with the Loudmouth, you will need to change out the resonator. It'll sound like **** other wise.

Go with the 3" Borla... I believe the part number is 30085.

I guess I'm one of the view who have it and like. Get a tune with the LT's and ORY and it will sound better at part throttle. Everyone I know likes the way it sounds. I've never heard anyone tell me my set-up sounded like sh** except for people on this site. It's definitely loud as sh**, it is "raspy", there is some drone but it literally scares people at wot and sounds great. There's a clip of mine on the dyno below, and I have one of it at the track if you'd like to hear it. It's the perfect set-up for some and not for others.

Just my .02.

If you do put the LT's on and you do not like it, you can always put a new catback or a bullit in th eI pipe. It is not the end of the world if you don't like it. There are a ton of options out there.

I will call and see if he will let me post pics. He is not a ls1tech fan the basterd

As has been hashed out quite a few times before. The best muffler replacement for the resonator is by far, the Borla! It gets rid of 99% of the rasp and drone associated with this exhaust.

check it below in my sig there are many videos (except the line lockers, and doughnuts) that are all LT's with ORY and LM, at all types of RPM's just check the link below. Sound and vid clips from inside and outside gives you a good idea. Yeah there are areas that its sounds not the greatest but at WOT its sick!

I have the LM with LT's, cam, Heads, and Highflow Cats - I think it sounds rediculous......and in fact just got a ticket for loud exhaust.....I ordered a Borla Cat Back.

I just had the full exhaust done and changed the loudmouth resonator and put the borla one on. Drone is gone!! It's very deep also and you can still tell it's the loudmouth system but with an added twist at WOT. Borlamouth all the way!!
