I woudn't waste money painting the hood until you get a cowl hood to paint. What motor is in there, anyway? 305 TBI?

But really, I like it actually. Paint the hood to match (hoods come flat black so that would look bad), and keep the gold. Gold is coming back. Get some gold Moroso valvecovers if you can get perimeter bolt ones on there.

IMHO, it looks terrible... like it was a complete afterthought when building the motor. I'd find a cowl hood... or find an actual shaker off a late 70's T/A.Might even wnatto open the shaker up, and install it backwards, I know a guy who did that to a beater '68 leMans, and it surprisingly looked kinda good. LoL

I don't like it because it's round. Most all shakers I've seen involve a square or rectangular shaped air cleaner sticking out of the hood, not a round one. It just looks weird, like a flying saucer is sticking out of your hood.

Get the real hood and then take your time and fab up a nice cowl induction with some sheet metal...NASCAR style. It will give you a nice cold inlet charge.

Here's what a 3inch Hardwood cowl looks like:

No, the Hardwood hood has a lip on the front, it doesn not meet flush with the front bumper cover.

This hood was put on about 6 years ago, so they may have changed their design since then...but I had it on the car for years and had no problems, up to 145mph.

Yeah i just ordered the 3 1/2 harwood cowl bolt on. This was so I could afford paint and body filler to blend it in nice and smooth. Pics to come soon when I get the new one done
