Default oem ss hood... did i make the right choice?

Hey, I just bought a damged OEM SS hood, it's got a small chunk of the end of the mantra missing, but I wanted OEM, so I got it, 600$ shipped. But I'm gonna have to repair it, and it seems like it'd be a hard spot to repair....
But I was looking today, and they have some functional SS's on ebay for like 500$ shipped.... I know fitment and quality is the major reason, but was that a good choice by me? I think the repair for the hood would be less than 100$, so that still puts me at about 7 for an oem ss, but I still coulda gotten a functional generic one for 200$ less....

Who did you buy it from? tell them that they sent you a defective product, i doubt that part could have been damaged during shipping. If you can get another one without the chip from the people you bought it from I would try that, otherwise repair it, you won't get your 600 back for a hood with a chip in it.

My 2 cents.

well, I bought a damaged oem ss hood as well, mine was hit right in the second bump near the drivers side headlight, definatly worth the repair, should be like 100 bucks, now, I only paid 200 for mine out of a yard, and everything else was ok, but I fixed half my self, and sent the rest out, getting top and bottom fixed to show quality, so I should have about 400 into it after paint

400 - 1100 new ss hood = good deal
700 - 1100 = still in the good, be sides if it is perfect you could easily get 900 for it.
