afaik bosch is supposed to be the shittiest brand out there, at least for spark plugs. i've heard peple curse bosch up and down.

these are NGK's from summit. NGK is a better brand, plus it's over 20 dollars cheaper. CHECK THAT MODEL NUMBER! i'm not sure if it's the front OR the rear O2 sensor and i'm too lazy to research. this is just a point in the right direction

You should be ok for a short time. The PCM goes into limp mode in this case. It won't run great but it's safe to drive.

Bosch o2 sensors work fine IME. They make good stuff.

Out of curiosity, does this car have LT's? The reason I ask is that I think rear sensors from a Corvette are the same but they are the right length, without extensions, for the fronts on an F-body with LT's.

Hi

I got GM O2s from a dealer and found them to be about the same price as the Bosch. They made a hugh difference in the performance of my car. I am glad I changed them. I hear the Bosch are good quality.

I think there may be different types (OE replacement & universal), but the Bosch units I looked at had a universal clip that meant cutting off the old clips on the wires in the car. I was not comfortable doing this so I purchsed th GM ones. Also the heat cover on the Bosch is a silicone rubber type material, where the GM has a heavy braided material. Most likely they are equivilant, but the GM material looks better to me.

Stay way from the NGK units.

Thanks JA

Do you really believe that both Bank 1 AND Bank 2 O2 sensors would simultaneously go bad? I don't because that's too much of a coincidence. Better to check your schematic wiring diagram to find out what these two sensors have in common before you spend time and money on parts you don't need and to top it off you still won't have solved your problem. You didn't mention whether the DTC points to pre cat or post cat O2s. You must be getting multiple DTCs because I don't think there is a DTC that points to BOTH sensors at the same time. If it is you pre cat O2s you would be forced to stay in Open Loop and maybe even Limp Mode as was mentioned, but you would noticed the reduced power if that happened. If it's the post cat O2s that won't hurt performance. It will just turn ON your SES until you get it fixed.

well come to find out it wasnt the O2s but the O2 sensor Fuse blew, i changed the sensors and still no change and called my tuner and he said check the fuses under the hood and sure enough the 20 amp fuse was blown. the whole metal thing was gone and he said change that and it should fix the problem, he said the same thing that they couldnt go out at the same time, and that the fuse would most likely be the cause and he was right. so that is a weight off my shoulders that i didnt need. thanks for your replys guys and looks like i have some brand new O2 sensors to last me awhile lol.

I love saying this:"I told you so"! Next time ask you question BEFORE you go out and WASTE your money on a part that ain't broke. I've heard O2 sensors make good hood ornaments, but since you bought two of them you didn't need maybe should try using them for bookends. You could put them on either end of a book titled "How to troubleshoot OBDII sensors".

nah i wanted to change the old ones out anyways they were all narly and looked like they were about to go out anyways, but it never crossed my mind to check the fuses and i guess when i melted the passenger side O2 plus along with the extension it shorted out the fuse and it blew. but next time anything like this happens i will check the fuses first.
